Basic leadership training for students is not just an activity but a crucial foundation in character development. Leadership is a vital aspect in shaping character and personal growth, especially among students. By providing opportunities for students to learn, practice, and apply leadership skills in various contexts, this training is expected to shape a younger generation that is not only academically intelligent but also capable of leading with integrity and responsibility.
From February 15 to February 17, We underwent Student Basic Leadership Training, abbreviated as LDKS, at PUSDIKAJEN Lembang. There, We were taught about leadership, developing disciplined behavior, and respecting time. Firstly, in terms of leadership, the commanders providing leadership materials emphasized that to be a good leader, we must be able to guide our members towards improvement. A good leader is someone who can serve as a role model for their members, guiding, leading, and embracing each individual within their team. Secondly, developing disciplined behavior involved waking up around 4 AM, and we were taught Parade, commonly known as "Peraturan Baris Berbaris" (PBB), where we had to be alert and understand the tempo to synchronize with each other. Understanding the rules and procedures of marching, where we need to be alert and understand each other, and also strengthening our physical endurance in all weather conditions. Thirdly, respecting time is money, and the commanders emphasized that time is money, teaching us to have regular sleep patterns, wake up early, and eat efficiently within a 5-minute timeframe. Despite the strictness and discipline we experienced, it indeed yielded positive results.
Basic leadership training is not just about leading but also shaping the character and personality of students. With a well-planned structure, this training can create resilient and ethical leaders for the future.
