Basic Leadership Training for Students

Basic leadership training for students is not just an activity but a crucial foundation in character development. Leadership is a vital aspect in shaping character and personal growth, especially among students. By providing opportunities for students to learn, practice, and apply leadership skills in various contexts, this training is expected to shape a younger generation that is not only academically intelligent but also capable of leading with integrity and responsibility.

From February 15 to February 17, We underwent Student Basic Leadership Training, abbreviated as LDKS, at PUSDIKAJEN Lembang. There, We were taught about leadership, developing disciplined behavior, and respecting time. Firstly, in terms of leadership, the commanders providing leadership materials emphasized that to be a good leader, we must be able to guide our members towards improvement. A good leader is someone who can serve as a role model for their members, guiding, leading, and embracing each individual within their team. Secondly, developing disciplined behavior involved waking up around 4 AM, and we were taught Parade, commonly known as "Peraturan Baris Berbaris" (PBB), where we had to be alert and understand the tempo to synchronize with each other. Understanding the rules and procedures of marching, where we need to be alert and understand each other, and also strengthening our physical endurance in all weather conditions. Thirdly, respecting time is money, and the commanders emphasized that time is money, teaching us to have regular sleep patterns, wake up early, and eat efficiently within a 5-minute timeframe. Despite the strictness and discipline we experienced, it indeed yielded positive results.

Basic leadership training is not just about leading but also shaping the character and personality of students. With a well-planned structure, this training can create resilient and ethical leaders for the future.

Hafragrautur, Iceland

Hafragrautur!

In cold countries like Iceland, a very popular breakfast menu is hafragrautur. Hafragrautur is a type of porridge made from oatmeal cooked in milk and sprinkled with brown sugar, raisins and melon seeds. This food is very healthy because it is low in cholesterol and sodium but high in fiber and selenium.

Ingredient:

½ cup oats

1 glass of water

2 cups milk

Topping:

2 tsp brown sugar

1 tbsp raisins

2 tbsp chopped nuts

2 tsp butter

How to make:

Heat water in a pan.

Add oats and mix well.

When it starts to thicken add milk.

Reduce the heat and let the porridge simmer until it thickens. Remember to stir occasionally so that the porridge doesn't burn at the bottom.

Spoon the porridge into serving bowls.

Add butter, raisins, nuts. Top with a knob of butter and sprinkle with brown sugar.

Serve immediately. (RO)

Erling Braut Halaand …

Erling Braut Halaand is his full name, born in 21 July 2000 (yes, he is 8 years older than me😆).

He is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a sriker for Premier League club Manchester City and the Norway national team.

Before Manchester! He achieved success with Borussia Dortmund, becoming the first player in Champions League history to score a hat trick in his debut match. Haaland began his career at Bryne F.K. at the age of 15, later moving to Molde in 2016 and signing with Salzburg in 2018. With Salzburg, he made history in 2019. With Borussia Dortmund, he became one of the most famous players in the Bundesliga. He has also been a member of the Norwegian national under-20 team.

Halaand Achivement?

Haaland has won several individual awards and broken various records during his career. During the 2019-20 season with Salzburg, he became the first teenager to score goals in five consecutive UEFA Champions League matches. In 2020, Haaland won the Golden Boy award, while in 2021 he was named Bundesliga Player of the Season. With Manchester City, he has also broken Premier League records, including most goals scored in a season, the quickest individual to score two, three and four hat-tricks, and the first player in the league's history to score hat-tricks in three consecutive home games.
